The following product is from Amtico International's stone flooring collection and is concrete. The concrete flooring can be used in areas that have up to high traffic, seeing that concrete is a highly durable product it can take quite a bit of abuse. The concrete has a very clean and sleek look that does not distract from the rest of the aesthetics of the interior. It is available in a variety of colors and the colors are all kept in a warm tone so the concrete does not appear so cold. The concrete can be laid out in squares, rectangles or can be combined with other materials as well.

Amtico uses PVC which is readily recyclable and has been tested and proved to be much gentler on the enviornment. Also, Amtico has made it a main point of their company to make sure that their products do indeed meet the Floorscore standard for indoor quality.

Shaggy Sheep

The following product comes from Flor, a flooring company that prides itself on having some of the lowest VOCs in the industry. The carpet is part of Flor's natural fiber collection and called Shaggy Sheep. The carpet is available in three colors and according to the Flor website, "Super soft and ultra plush, Shaggy Sheep's 100% wool provides luxurious softness and depth that your toes will love. Available in four sumptuous and all-natural color ways (no dying here), Shaggy Sheep gives you a seamless look for a sea of wooly comfort." Be forewarned, the rug being a completely natural fiber will shed some and will have to be "raked", however, this will decrease over time.

Shaggy Sheep is best for areas with medium traffic due to the fact that it is all natural and does need to be handled gentler than man made materials. This cut pile carpet is to be installed with FLORdots (a Flor company adhesive) in a monolithic manner. The backing of the carpet is the only element that is not all natural and it is made of GlasBac Tile and is 34% post industrial.

The tiles are 19.7" x 19.7" and are 1.75 inches thick and are $9.66/sq ft. The availability of the carpeted tiles depends on the demand for the product at the time.

Muse

The following product comes for Oceanside Glasstile's Muse collection. There are three different types of variations in the Muse collection which are: mosaic field, blends and patterns. Mosaic field is just one large sheet of the same color of glass tile; Mosaic blend is a large sheet of tiles placed randomly that go together color-wise; Mosaic pattern is a pattern of mosaics that compliment each other. The client if ordering a mosaic blend is given the option of creating their own version of a blend.

Bamboo Flooring

The following product comes for DuroDesign's bamboo flooring collection. The flooring comes in 58 different colors depending on the clientele's taste. The bamboo flooring can either be order in solid strip flooring or extra-wide engineered plank flooring. Solid strip bamboo flooring is very similar to traditional hardwood flooring while the engineered is installed as a floating floor .

The flooring is finished with MP765, a high-traffic water-base polyurethane system. There is no off gassing when this product is used to finish the flooring and the VOC content is very low due to the fact that it is water based. DuraDesign's bamboo flooring qualifies for the following LEED credits:

• LEED® MR Credit 6: Rapidly Renewable Materials
• LEED® EQ Credit 4: Low-Emitting Materials

The great thing about bamboo flooring is that it is just as durable if not more so than hardwood and it grows eight times faster and can be harvested more rapidly than wood.

Cork Flooring

The following product comes for DuroDesign's cork flooring collection. The flooring comes in six different patterns and 54 colors and it is cut very easily in order to create different patterns and looks depending on what the client requests. Cork is a great alternative for flooring because it is a renewable resource that does not harm the trees while it is harvested. The unique aspect of DuroDesign's cork is the fact that their flooring comes 100% from recycled wine corks.

Cork absorbs sound and impact and it also stays warm. One downside to cork is the fact that it is a softer material and leaving a very heavy piece of furniture on it for a prolonged amount of time will cause it to dent. The cork can be applied in two ways, as tiles or as click-together floating floor.

Synops

The following product is from Clestra Hauserman office partition from their steel monobloc partition collection called Synops. According to the Clestra website, " Synops range is a range of metallic or glazed walls which are made-to-measure, monobloc and demountable. The purchaser can define the model, the floor to ceiling height, and the types and shapes of glazing to the exact millimeter to suit all types of building layouts."

The wall is very soundproof and can be used for a multitude of uses such as: Whiteboards, drawings, pinboards, pre- sentation material etc. magnetically fixed to the partitions.

The fire resistance is class 0.

The following product is from Clestra office partition from their glass partition collection. The product chosen below is from the Pleinair Wall line. The Pleinair line is completely transparent. The glass is available in single or double glazed as well as centered or off centered. The glass panels are used not only as partitions but can be used as doors also.

Apple Martini

The following material comes from CaesarStone Quartz Countertops. Unlike the last post about CaesarStone this product is not recycled. The color is called Apple Martini and is one of CaesarStone's newest colors. This product is an example of how versatile CaesarStone is.

CaesarStone prides itself on using quartz as a countertop material because it is so adaptable to different types of use. It is resistant to stains, cracks, mildew and mold, scratches, some household chemicals and heat. The counter tops do not require a sealant and are cleaned easily. The surface is offered in a variety of finishes such as: honed, polished and textured. There is also a lifetime warranty applied to the counters.

Koi 100

The following product is from Alkemi Recycled Surface Materials from their Anodize collection and is called Koi 100. Koi 100 is a golden recycled metal that comes in a textured/classic finish as well as honed finish. This color in particular is typically used as a countertop for a glitzy and more upscale atmosphere because it is a gold. However there are other colors in the anodize collection.

According to the Alkemi website" Award winning ALKEMI is a SCS certified, LEED credits recieving, recycled surface material composed to post industrial scrap waste. Made from fine flake aluminum milling scrap ALKEMI leaves no hazardous footprint." The material requires no coating or sealing and has a variety of different finishes that can be applied to it. The material cannot be sanded or polished because it damage the texture.

The thickness of the material is 1/2" and 3/4" and the sheet dimensions are 36" x 120" or 36" x 96". The material is strong and durable and is a modern and fresh approach for commercial use counters and wall partitions. The price and availability vary depending on the demand for the product and the amount used.
