X-Factor

X-Factor is a fabric created by Momentum Textiles. The fabric is made of 100% Eco-Intelligent® polyester and it comes in six colors. It is made for upholstery applications and is a sustainable textile created by designer Mark Goetz and May Liu.

It has been tested at 50,000+ double rubs, so it is very durable. It has been fire tested and applies to CA Bulletin 117 Section E. The fabric is Greenguard certified for children and schools for air quality certification. According to the Momentum Textiles website, the X-Factor fabric is also created as MBDC Gold Cradle to Cradle Certified CM, something Momentum Textiles strives to achieve with all of their fabrics.

There are no harmful finishes applied to the fabric and Momentum tries to reduce environmental impact with all materials.

The fabric is water soluble so the dye applied to it will not run or fade if it encounters water. Water soluble fabrics may be spot cleaned with a cleaning solution, however it should be tested in an inconspicuous area first.

The fabric is 100% recyclable because according to Momentum Textiles, "Eco-Intelligent®Polyesters have no heavy metals (such as antimony), chlorine and PBTs so they can be safely and perpetually recycled and re-manufactured in a closed loop system."

X-Factor fabric is $36.00/yard, which is a very good price for a high quality sustainable fabric. The availability depends on when it is ordered and the demand for the specific fabric at the time.
